New Scholarship for UNC Charlotte Graphic Design Students

At Union, we already have one ongoing scholarship supporting rising college students who have a passion for digital marketing. Now, we’re excited to announce a new scholarship supporting current graphic design students at UNC Charlotte.
The scholarship endowment, called the E. Hudson Graphic Design Student Award, was recently established by our president, Banks Wilson. The award will go to a rising junior or senior student pursuing a BFA in graphic design starting during the 2022-23 academic year.
To qualify, the student must show a commitment to graphic design coursework and future professional development. The award is particularly special to Banks, who received a BFA in art with a concentration in graphic design from UNC Charlotte in 2001. He named the award to honor Emeritus Professor of Art Eldred Hudson, who retired from UNC Charlotte’s Department of Art &amp; Art History in 2021 after 33 years.
“Eldred was a great teacher,” Banks <a href="https://coaa.charlotte.edu/news/2021-10-25/alumnus-establishes-scholarship-honor-former-professor-and-department-chair">told</a> UNC Charlotte. “He not only helped me develop the skills I needed to pursue a career in graphic design, but he also inspired me to be the very best I could be.”
