Union Receives Six American Advertising Awards

Our team was excited to be honored with six awards during the virtual <a href="https://www.aafcharlotte.com/2020-awards">2020 Charlotte American Advertising Awards</a> on Feb. 25. Every year, the Awards competition hosted by AAF Charlotte celebrates the creative spirit of excellence in advertising based on work from the previous year. As AAF Charlotte pointed out on their <a href="https://www.aafcharlotte.com/2020-awards">website</a>, “This year, our feet were held to the fire. In the face of uncertainty, innovation became critical.”
Union took the past year of COVID to create work that was recognized with silver and gold awards.

In 2020, Randolph Community College added a state-of-the-art medical building to its campus. They wanted students to feel inspired when they entered. We partnered with an architecture firm to create a 30’ x 18’ LED wall featuring 12 medical-themed vignettes that dynamically changed colors based on the time of day. Implementing a secondary display, we finalized a multi-screen experience with real-time weather and class schedules.

Mountain Dew came to us for help in launching their South Division campaign focused on encouraging consumers to Claim the Outdoors. We leveraged multiple influencers that fit their “Heartland Hero” persona to connect a love for outdoor activities and drinking Mountain Dew. We performed influencer channel audits to understand what content resonated with each audience and then provided creative direction, scriptwriting and final execution of assets to each influencer. The campaign hit the sweet spot for our consumers and was especially relevant amidst the pandemic-spending time outdoors.

An industry leader for premium highway truck innovation, Volvo Trucks requested help engaging with a new audience online and translating the brand’s key messaging and value propositions across relevant digital marketing channels. We laid out and executed a creative digital marketing strategy to launch their newest truck, the VHD. This campaign included website updates, pre and post-production video, social media strategy and paid digital media channels.

Artza looks to bring the craft, beauty and spirit of the Holy Land to families across the world, supporting the people of Israel through immersive experiences delivered right to their door. The Artza team engaged us to develop the brand language and brand identity, including the logo, as well as to design their packaging. Once these elements were finalized, we also created an online platform to bring the brand to life in the digital space and invite consumers to experience it for themselves.

Backed by Capital Investment firm 25madison came a new concept to reimagine disaster preparedness in a way that helped consumers feel confident in the face of natural disasters like hurricanes, earthquakes, wildfires and even global pandemics. The difference is, they wanted to help people in fun and innovative ways; to discourage fear-mongering and proactively initiate skills training and planning for families to feel comfortable, even when things don’t go as planned. Harbor was in need of a brand identity that reflected that mission. The identity system came to life across traditional and digital media.
