Katie attended the UNC-Charlotte, where she studied Chemistry for a lot longer than she probably should have. Back in his hometown of Charlotte, John spends his free time with his much cooler wife and can easily be distracted by conversations regarding Bruce Springsteen, slow-cooked meats, the American Civil War, and pointless arguments.

If there’s a conversation about soccer in the office, you can bet that Matt’s involved. After playing for most of his life, he is known to suddenly stand up and dribble a soccer ball around the office. His favorite team is Arsenal F.C. (their fans actually refer to themselves as “Gooners”), which means that he and our resident Chelsea F.C. fan have a healthy rivalry.
With a background in design and development, Matt brings a keen understanding of how beautiful design can be translated into functional code. Before joining UNION as a Senior Developer, he was the Digital Team Lead at Luquire George Andrews and a designer/developer at the Charlotte Observer.

Spencer has a BS in Digital Information Design concentrating in Interactive Media from Winthrop University, a specialized curriculum split between design and computer science instruction. What interests him most about his work is the demiurgic role of design in setting user consumption paradigms.
Spencer enjoys avant-garde fashions, brutalist architecture, and post-modern cinema. That description makes him sound fairly unbearable, but he is actually a very agreeable guy. When he’s not writing codes you can find him wasting money on artisanal sweatpants.
Whether it’s photographing a time-lapse, discussing the complexities of entangled photons, or developing a webpage, Chris loves to explore systems. He’s always down for a game of Ultimate or an epic board game.
